As part of the “March to Build the Nation in July” programme, central leaders of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) are set to visit Cox’s Bazar on 19 July. To announce the leaders’ visit, the Cox’s Bazar district NCP held a press conference at the Cox’s Bazar Press Club on Thursday evening (17 July).

Speaking at the press conference, NCP’s Joint Central Member Secretary S.M. Suza Uddin said:

“This is Cox’s Bazar, a politically fertile and internationally significant city. We hope there will be no incidents here like in Gopalganj.”

Suja added that discussions had already been held with the Superintendent of Police and other law enforcement agencies regarding the NCP’s march:

“We are hopeful that our programme will proceed smoothly, and we seek the cooperation of the law enforcement agencies.”

In a written statement, district NCP organiser Omar Faruk said that preparations have been completed in all upazilas. He noted that the July march would begin from the bus terminal and proceed like a mass uprising, culminating in a public rally at Shaheed Daulat Maidan near the Public Library.

Omar Faruk added that on their way to Cox’s Bazar, the central leaders would interact with local residents and distribute leaflets in Chakaria, Eidgaon, and Ramu.
