More than 350 students and young people came together in Cox’s Bazar to protect the coastline, demonstrating that real change begins with youth action. On Wednesday, they joined hands to clean the beach and collect plastic waste, showcasing their commitment to the environment.
Together, they removed nearly 1.4 tonnes of plastic waste from the beach.
The youth-led initiative was organized jointly at Sugandha Point by UNICEF, its partner BRAC, NGO Forum for Public Health, and Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK).
Rubaiya Afroze, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) and Acting Deputy Director of Local Government, Cox’s Bazar, and Angela Kearney, Chief of the UNICEF Cox’s Bazar Field Office, joined the young participants in the drive. They expressed their appreciation for the courage, commitment, and actions of the youth in protecting environmental balance along the coastline.
