Despite not being a holiday, Cox’s Bazar witnessed an overwhelming influx of tourists. From the Kalatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points of the main sea beach to various spots along Marine Drive, tourists flocked in large numbers.

On Sunday (February 9), Kakra Beach (Kakra Beach) in the Pechardwip area of Marine Drive saw a surge of visitors. The entrance to Kakra beach is via a wooden bridge, which is crowded with tourists throughout the day.

Lined with rows of casuarina trees, Kakra Beach offers a scenic escape and the thrilling sight of parasailing over the sea, making it a favorite destination among visitors. Occasionally, red crabs can be spotted on the shore, though their numbers are dwindling due to increasing tourist activity.

Local tourism entrepreneurs expressed their satisfaction with the tourist turnout. Many struggled to do business toward the end of last year due to protests and disruptions. However, with the current visitor surge, they claim to have recovered their losses.
