A Partner Field School Congress was held in Ukhiya to strengthen the capacity of local farmers and promote agricultural innovation, nutrition, and resilience. The event took place on Wednesday, May 7, at the Upazila Auditorium and was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension with support from the Programme on Agriculture and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh.
The session was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Zahid Hasan, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury attending as the chief guest. Other speakers included Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Ms. Benazir Kabir, the Upazila Livestock Officer, and the Upazila Cooperative Officer.
Speakers emphasized the importance of higher crop yields, safe food practices, and the adoption of modern agricultural technologies. They also highlighted the need to develop fruit and vegetable farms enriched with nutritional value to ensure food security and support rural transformation.
