Drawn by its serene atmosphere and unspoiled natural charm, Pechar Dwip—located along Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive—is witnessing a steady rise in visitor numbers. Far from the city’s hustle and noise, the tranquil sea, wide sandy beach, and vast blue sky come together to offer a soothing escape for nature lovers.
On weekends, many visitors arrive with family and friends to spend time in peaceful surroundings. With fewer crowds, tourists can stroll along the shoreline, listen to the rhythmic sound of the waves, enjoy the gentle sea breeze, and capture moments with a camera.
Rashed, a visitor from Dhaka, said, “Many places in Cox’s Bazar are overcrowded. But at Pechar Dwip, it feels like being truly close to nature. Coming here gives a real sense of mental peace.”
Another visitor, Nusrat Jahan from Chattogram, shared a similar experience.
“It’s a beautiful place for family outings. You can spend time here with children without worry. The view during sunset is absolutely stunning.”
Locals say the island’s beauty is at its peak in the late afternoon, especially during sunset. As the sky changes colour, the waves of the sea and the soft breeze create a truly mesmerising setting.
Tourists believe that if tourism-friendly facilities are developed while preserving the natural environment, Pechar Dwip could emerge as one of Cox’s Bazar’s most popular tourist destinations in the future.
