Residents of several areas in Cox’s Bazar town will experience an eight-hour power outage on Monday, June 23 (Today), due to scheduled maintenance work, according to a public notice issued by the Cox’s Bazar office of the Power Development Board (PDB).
The interruption in electricity supply is scheduled to occur from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM as part of the repair and maintenance of the 11kV feeder line and the trimming of trees and branches near power lines.
The affected areas include Sikder Para, Barua Para, BGB Camp area, Chowdhury Para, Submarine Cable Office vicinity, northern side of Ali Zahar Road, SM Para, Godar Para, Khuruskul Road junction, Majherghat, Peshkarpara Switch Gate, Malaria Office Road, Burmese School Road, Kazi Office Road, Seagull Tower area, Bazarghata, Boro Mosque area, Kamar Patti, Chawkbazar Road, Ashimong Peshkar Para, Municipal Super Market, and surrounding neighborhoods.
PDB sources have indicated that if the work is completed ahead of schedule, power may be restored earlier than planned. However, residents are advised to remain prepared for the whole duration of the outage in case of any unforeseen delays.
