In Moheshkhali, the Proggapath–2025 quiz competition, organised by the social initiative Social Development Youth Forum (SDYF) to promote students’ intellectual growth and enhance educational standards, concluded with a prize-giving ceremony on Saturday, 24 January 2026.
The competition, held on 18 December 2025 across three centres in Maheshkhali, saw a large turnout of students from various educational institutions in the sub-district.
The ceremony began with recitations from the Holy Quran and the Gita. The event was graced by Mohammad Zahedul Islam, Secondary Education Officer, Maheshkhali, as the chief guest, while Kamal Uddin Roni, Advisor of SDYF, attended as the special guest.
Other dignitaries present included Shamsul Alam, Primary Education Officer, Maheshkhali; Gias Uddin Chowdhury, Headmaster of Moheshkhali Model Government Primary School; Nazmul Huda, eminent social worker and education advocate; and Noman Uddin Elahi, teacher at Panirchhara Adarsha High School. Heads of various schools, teachers, and local education enthusiasts also attended the programme.
The inaugural speech was delivered by A.S.M. Sagar, Advisor, SDYF, followed by a welcome address from Sadek Hossain Taiyeb, Founder & Executive Coordinator of SDYF. Muhammad Wakar Uddin, Assistant Professor and Advisor, SDYF, presided over the event.
In his speech, Chief Guest Mohammad Zahedul Islam said, “Events like this spark students’ interest in learning and cultivate a healthy competitive spirit. SDYF’s initiatives are commendable in fostering an education-friendly society.”
Special Guest Kamal Uddin Roni added, “Merit-based competitions play a vital role in developing students’ critical thinking and moral values. SDYF has long been contributing to Maheshkhali’s educational progress through quiz competitions, distribution of learning materials, and support for underprivileged students.”
Awards were presented to 32 students across different categories. First-place winners in each division received Tk 5,000, second-place winners Tk 3,000, third-place winners Tk 2,000, and students in the general grade received Tk 1,000 each, along with crests and certificates.
The ceremony concluded with a delightful musical performance by Shamim Iqbal and Zahedul Islam Parvez, bringing the event to a festive, inspiring close.
