To mark the World Day Against Child Labour, the Cox’s Bazar District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments jointly organized a rally and a discussion meeting on Thursday.

With the theme “Let us fly on the wings of dreams, break the chains of child labour, and move forward with the fire of hope”, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the morning.

Following the rally, a discussion was held at the Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam Conference Room of the DC’s office, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salah Uddin. In his speech, the DC highlighted various government initiatives aimed at eliminating child labour. He emphasized that public awareness is crucial in this effort. He noted that the district administration is actively working on rehabilitation programs for underprivileged children and development initiatives for children with special needs.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Imran Hossain Sajib, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sadar Upazila Sharmin Sultana, Executive Magistrate Md. Masud Rana, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments Mofakkharul Islam, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Koninika Dastidar, District Child Affairs Officer Ahsanul Haque, and President of the Cox’s Bazar Press Club Mahbubur Rahman also addressed the gathering.

Students from various educational institutions, along with government officials and teachers, attended the event, reflecting a strong communal commitment to ending child labour and ensuring a better future for every child.
