Refrigerator showrooms and electronics outlets across Cox’s Bazar are witnessing a surge in customers ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, as many consumers are purchasing new refrigerators or replacing older models with modern ones.
Visits to several branded showrooms in the town showed heavy customer presence from morning until night.
Among the brands, refrigerators were reportedly seeing the highest demand, while sales staff remained busy handling customers and deliveries.
Monjurul Haque, an official at the Walton Jhautala branch in Cox’s Bazar, said demand for refrigerators increases every year during Eid-ul-Azha, though this year demand was comparatively higher.
“We are offering a 10 per cent discount ahead of Eid. As a result, customers are showing strong interest in purchasing refrigerators and are placing trust in our brand,” he said.
Customer Abdur Rahim said he had long planned to buy a refrigerator but had been unable to do so earlier for various reasons.
“Now, with Eid approaching, I finally found the opportunity and bought one,” he said.
Customers also crowded other electronics showrooms across Cox’s Bazar town, in addition to Walton outlets.
Retailers said refrigerator sales were continuing to rise as Eid-ul-Azha drew closer.
