Saidul Islam has been elected General Secretary of the Cox’s Bazar International University Chhatra Dal through a direct voting process during the party’s conference and council session. The council was held on Tuesday, August 19, at a city hotel hall following the university student party’s official conference.

Out of 79 registered voters, 68 cast their votes, with Saidul Islam securing 40 votes to emerge victorious over his rival.

After his election, Saidul Islam expressed gratitude, saying, “First, I thank Almighty Allah. I am also deeply grateful to my dear voters, fellow students, and friends for trusting me and electing me to this important position.”

He added, “This victory is not just mine—it belongs to all of us. It reflects our unity, courage, and struggle. I pledge to take your trust as my strength and always stand at the forefront of movements for truth, justice, and the rights of the student community. Together, we will build a strong, principled, and resilient student organization.”

Saidul Islam also conveyed his thanks to the Chhatra Dal’s organizational guardian, Tarek Rahman, former MP Lutfur Rahman Kajol, and his personal mentor, Mizanul Alam.

Through this democratic process of student politics, the university’s Chhatra Dal members have demonstrated the organization’s strength, unity, and active participation in campus democracy.
