In a bid to revive sports among local youth, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Kathwaipru Marma recently distributed footballs to schools and sports clubs across Kutubdia.
The event, held at Boro Ghop Sea Beach on Wednesday, saw participation from students, teachers, local sports leaders, and officials, including Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Sadat Hossain and Upazila Education Officer Md. Muslim Uddin.
Speaking at the ceremony, UNO Marma said, “Sports are crucial in preventing drugs, juvenile crime, and social decay. The administration will continue supporting initiatives that encourage youth participation and physical-mental development.”
Students and local sports leaders expressed excitement, noting that access to proper equipment and organized activities will inspire youth to return to the fields, promote unity, and foster a healthy, active community.
