The Sangbadik Sangsad of Cox’s Bazar distributed winter clothes to over a hundred underprivileged and homeless people on Wednesday (14 January) at the Central Shaheed Minar premises.

The event was graced by Nurul Islam Helali, President of the Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union, as the chief guest. 

He said, “The reward for noble deeds comes from Allah. Standing by those in need is the ideal taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Let us come forward to help the destitute and keep the cold-stricken warm with our love.”

The distribution program was presided over by M. A. Aziz Rasel, President of the Sangbadik Sangsad of Cox’s Bazar, and conducted by General Secretary Balram Dash Anupam. 

Special guests included Azadur Rahman Azad, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer; Advocate Abu Siddique Osmani, Cox’s Bazar Press Club; the organization’s advisor Adnan Saud; and Morshed Alam, General Secretary of the District Weavers’ Association.

Speakers at the program praised the initiative and said it could inspire others. They urged the affluent to stand by marginalized communities.

At the conclusion of the event, the guests personally handed out winter clothes to the beneficiaries.

Also present were the association’s officials, including Deputy General Secretary Shahidul Karim Shahid, Associate Editor Shahed Hossain Mubin, Organizing Secretary Jahangir Alam Shams, M. A. Sattar, Finance Secretary Aminul Kabir, Public Relations Secretary Abdur Rashid Manik, Sports Secretary Ashraf Bin Yusuf, Cultural Secretary Jannatul Neha, and members Sarwar Sakib, Saiduzzaman, Sajan Borua Saju, Arif, among others.
