A 33-member executive committee of Satyen Sen Shilpigoshthi, Cox’s Bazar district unit, has been formed with a renewed commitment to strengthening cultural activities in the region.

At the same time, a five-member governing body has also been constituted for the organisation’s cultural training institute. The committees were approved unanimously at a recent executive meeting.

Stakeholders expressed hope that the newly formed committee would inject fresh momentum into the district’s cultural arena.

In the new committee, Khorshed Alam has been appointed president, while Monir Mobarak will serve as general secretary.

The vice-presidents are Radhu Barua Chowdhury and Manik Bairagi. Joint general secretaries are Tamjid Pasha, Antik Chakraborty, and Toufiqul Islam.

Ayat Ullah has been made finance secretary, Bablu Dey office secretary, and Subrata Mallik education and research secretary.

Niharika Dhar Akhi has been appointed cultural secretary, with Mithila Sen Tuhi as assistant cultural secretary. Shahed Hossain Mubin will serve as publicity and publication secretary.

Other members of the committee include Harunur Rashid Liton, Moutusi Pal Tama, Priya Dhar, Manik Das, Arpita Dhar, Monira Akter Moni, Susmita Paul Toma, Roni Dasgupta, Rahul Barua Drishya, Shantanu Chowdhury, Jawad Bashar Ananta, Annie Pal, Moumita Bhattacharya, Sheikh Md Yunus, Ritu Talukdar, Shaibal Barua, Jayanti Das, Anindya Deb Antu, and Turjya Das, among others.

Meanwhile, in the governing body of the cultural training institute, Subrata Mallik has been appointed director, and Ayat Ullah has been appointed assistant director. Other members include Moutusi Pal Tama, Roni Dasgupta, and Debi Bhattacharya.

Speakers at the meeting said that cultural movements play a vital role in enlightening society and guiding younger generations toward creativity. They expressed optimism that under the new leadership, cultural activities would expand even to remote areas of the district and become more dynamic, thereby fostering greater community engagement and participation in the arts.
