To mark the 164th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the music division of Satyen Sen Shilpigoshthi in Cox’s Bazar organized a special cultural evening on Thursday. The “O Nuton Dekha Dik Arbar” (O New, Let Us Behold You Once More), was held at the Cox’s Bazar Municipal Preparatory School auditorium.
The program featured discussions on the poet’s life, philosophy, and literary legacy. Speakers included the organization’s president Md. Khorshed Alam, office secretary; Subrata Mallik, treasurer; Ayat Ullah, cultural secretary; Niharika Dhar Ankhi, member; Priya Dhar, dance instructor; Harunur Rashid Liton, and music instructor Mithila Sen Tuhi.
Following the discussion, a group rendition of Tagore’s song “He Nuton Dekha Dik Arbar” was performed, expressing deep reverence for the poet. The event concluded with a ceremonial lighting of lamps. The organization’s general secretary, Monir Mobarak, conducted the entire program.
Organizers said the event aimed to rekindle Tagore’s spirit and vision of a brighter tomorrow—echoed in his voice, thought, and hope.
