The low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has weakened slightly, prompting authorities to withdraw local cautionary signal No. 3 from the Cox’s Bazar seaport. However, the possibility of heavy rainfall and landslides in hilly areas remains, the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office has warned.

Assistant Meteorologist Md Abdul Hannan said residents and tourists should remain alert, especially in hillside and coastal areas, as sudden downpours could trigger waterlogging or landslides.

He added that precaution is crucial for those living near slopes or traveling along hilly routes.

Meanwhile, fishing boats and trawlers operating in the northeastern Bay have been advised to stay close to the shore and proceed with caution until further notice.

Authorities continue to monitor weather developments as rainfall persists across the district.
