Cox’s Bazar, a bustling tourist destination, welcomes thousands of tourists, including Hindu community members, during the Durga Puja holiday.

To cater to them, special Puja arrangements have been established near the parking area at the second gate of the Cox’s Bazar International Cricket Stadium.

The Tourism Beach Puja Celebration Committee has been organizing this unique Puja for 15 consecutive years, making it the only location in Bangladesh to host a Puja specifically for tourists.

Kajol Sharma, president of the committee, shared that this tradition began 16 years ago with a Saraswati Puja for members of the Hindu community working in the tourism sector and visiting tourists.

The Durga Puja has been held annually for the last 15 years.

He also said that the Puja’s expenses are covered through donations from committee members, government grants, municipal support, and contributions from well-wishers and the Hindu community.

However, despite its significance for tourists, no tourism-related organization or institution has offered assistance or even visited the event.
