In the dense jungles surrounding the hills of Cox’s Bazar, one can spot the Nataka plant, a spiny shrub with remarkable medicinal properties. The fruit of this plant is called Nata fruit in South Asia, and it is known for its unique appearance and uses. Traditional herbal medicine often uses decoction to treat abdominal pain and snake bites. Interestingly, the leaves of the Nataka plant resemble jute leaves in texture and flavor and are considered quite delicious when cooked.
