A student drowned while bathing in the sea at Inani beach in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning. Fifteen others were rescued alive.
The incident occurred at Inani beach on Thursday, October 29.
Mahabub Alam, supervisor of Cox’s Bazar beach workers, said 15 of around 16 madrasa students who entered the sea to bathe were rescued alive. Another student, identified as Shanto and aged around 13–15, was recovered dead.
Shanto was from Keraniganj in Dhaka. His father’s name and other details of his identity were not immediately available.
Authorities were collecting further information about the deceased student and the incident.
