For 20 years, a quaint tea shop in the city’s heart has been selling more than just tea and snacks. Alongside cups of steaming tea, customers can find various terracotta items, including clay pots, pitchers, and other earthenware essentials.

Known locally as terracotta, these handmade clay products range from everyday items to decorative pieces. They are crafted with intricate designs and fired to achieve a brick-like finish.

Israfill, the shop owner, told Cox’s Bazar Life that he sources his goods from various places, including Barishal, Dhaka, Ramu tea gardens, and Chittagong. He shared that business has been steady over the two decades, as city residents often come to him for quality terracotta items.

The shop has also become a favorite spot for tourists looking to take home a unique piece of local craftsmanship.
