Since February 1, a nine-month travel restriction has been imposed on Saint Martin’s Island, Bangladesh’s only coral island. With no tourists around, the island has returned to its natural tranquillity—the only sound echoing along the shoreline is the rhythmic roar of the waves.
This seclusion has revealed Saint Martin’s untouched beauty in its purest form. Wherever the eye wanders, there is only an endless expanse of blue—the sky and the sea merging seamlessly on the horizon.
The shallow turquoise waters, vibrant coral formations, and mesmerizing dance of the waves create a breathtaking sight. Towering rows of swaying coconut trees line the coast, enhancing the island’s idyllic charm. Fishing boats rest peacefully along the shores, while crabs, seashells, and seagulls add to the island’s unique character.
Under the pristine waters, jellyfish gracefully drift, and various marine fish, sea turtles, and corals flourish, transforming this island into a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts.
Saint Martin’s Island, a rare and pristine retreat where the ocean whispers its timeless melody, now breathes in its natural rhythm as human activity has ceased.
