The Tour Operator Owners Association of Cox’s Bazar (TOAC), one of the leading bodies in the district’s tourism sector, formed a three-member election conduct committee at its Special General Meeting held on Saturday, 24 November, at the Hill Tower Hotel in Cox’s Bazar.
Mizanur Rahman Milky, the former vice-president and founding joint general secretary of TOAC, presided over the meeting. As part of the preparations for the association’s upcoming election, a proposal was placed to form a three-member committee comprising Ajmal Huda, Md. Anwar Hossain, and Humayun Islam Suman. The proposal came from general members Abul Kashem, Hafizul Karim Hasan, Humayun Kabir Azad, and Swapan Sharma. Members present both in person and online unanimously approved the proposed committee.
The meeting saw participation—both physically and virtually—from a large number of TOAC members, including Mizanur Rahman Milky, Anwar Hossain, Kofil Uddin, Ali Raj, Nurul Hasan, Abul Kashem, Momtaz Mia, Habib Ullah, Taiyab Ullah, Rafiquddin, Isratur Rahman, Ahad Al Mahmud, Humayun Islam, Muhammad Arkan, Ruhul Amin, Hafizul Karim, Humayun Kabir, Ajmal Huda, S.M. Babur, Sajib Pal, Swapan Sharma, Hasan Mahmud, Kader Khan, Ershad Ullah, Arifur Rahman, Nur Mohammad Monir, Faruk, Kajol Mahajan, Harun, Mizanur Rahman, Rupon, Nasir, Obaidul, Anwar Hossain, Emad, Suman, Shahadat, Siddiqur Rahman, Mostafa Zaman, Faruk and many others.
Speakers at the meeting called for strengthening TOAC’s activities and making the organisation more structured, modern, and dynamic. They expressed confidence that the new leadership would steer the association with greater transparency, accountability, and unity. They also hoped that the newly formed election conduct committee would help bring positive change through a fair and efficient electoral process.
Following the announcement of the committee, general members expressed enthusiasm, applauding and offering warm congratulations. Many members voiced optimism that the committee would ensure a smooth, impartial, and successful election—ultimately helping TOAC grow into an even stronger organisation.
Wrapping up the meeting, president-in-chair Mizanur Rahman Milky thanked all members for their participation and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining unity and progress within TOAC in the days ahead.
