The Tourist Police of the Cox’s Bazar region has been maintaining round-the-clock vigilance to prevent any form of criminal activity in and around Cox’s Bazar sea beach and its adjoining Jhau forest areas.

This specialized police unit has been providing 24-hour service to ensure the safety of tourists’ lives, property, and personal security.

Law enforcement officials noted that the period from midnight to early morning is particularly sensitive, as criminal groups often attempt to operate in the Jhau forest areas during these hours.

To curb such activities and ensure a safe environment for tourists, the Tourist Police regularly conduct midnight operations in these zones.

Additional Inspector General (Addl DIG) Apple Mahmud, in charge of the Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar region, said, “Ensuring the safety of life and property of tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar is the primary responsibility of the Tourist Police. We remain fully committed so that no visitor feels insecure. Our personnel are on duty 24 hours a day.”

He added that regular patrols, operations, and surveillance have been intensified to keep tourist areas free from crime.

He also urged tourists to seek assistance from the Tourist Police whenever needed.

Officials said that such proactive measures by the Tourist Police have significantly increased the sense of safety and confidence among both domestic and foreign tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar.
