Cox’s Bazar beach saw a steady flow of tourists on Wednesday despite it not being a weekly holiday, with crowds gradually increasing at different points from the afternoon.
Tourists of all ages, including children and teenagers, were seen enjoying the waves and spending time along the beach.
Tourists gathered at Laboni, Sugandha and Kolatoli points. Some went into the sea to enjoy the waves, while others sat on the sandy beach and took in the natural surroundings. Many were busy taking photographs and recording videos to capture their moments.
The tourists also brought more activity to the areas around the beach. Photographers, beach-bike operators and local businesses were seen attending to tourists.
Samiya Rahman, a tourist from Dhaka, said, “Although it is not a holiday, I had a few days off, so I came to Cox’s Bazar with my family. We are enjoying the atmosphere by the sea.”
Local businessman Abdur Rahman said the number of tourists was lower than on weekly holidays, but people from different parts of the country have been visiting Cox’s Bazar at various times.
“As a result, tourism-dependent businesses are also seeing activity,” he said.
The number of tourists appeared to increase further as the sun set. Many spent the evening enjoying the blue water, the sound of the waves, and the beach’s scenic surroundings.
