A three-day stretch of holidays, with the weekend merging into Ashura on Sunday, has brought a rush of tourists to Cox’s Bazar, even amid the monsoon season.

On Sunday (July 6), around 9 am, the Sugandha Point of the beach was teeming with visitors. Hundreds of tourists were seen swimming in the sea, while many others relaxed on the sand or lounged under umbrellas and beach chairs, enjoying conversations against the backdrop of the waves. The sky remained overcast throughout the morning, with a drizzle adding to the monsoon ambience.

Several Sea Safe lifeguards were seen keeping a watchful eye on swimmers from their posts, while members of the Tourist Police and district-appointed beach staff were advising visitors on safety and swimming regulations.

Authorities have maintained a strong presence to ensure the safety and security of tourists, with law enforcement agencies on high alert and mobile courts operating on the beach.
