A stunning array of colorful seashells now adorns the sandy shores of Cox’s Bazar. Shades of blue, pink, red, white, and brown glimmer under the sunlight—captivating tourists strolling along the world’s longest natural sea beach.
Tourists often collect or purchase these vibrant shells as souvenirs for their loved ones.
Local residents, who collect shells from the beach after the tide recedes each morning, clean and polish them before arranging them into beautiful displays for sale. For many, this has become a reliable source of income.
“This has become part of our livelihood,” said one shell vendor. “Tourists love these colorful shells—they can’t resist taking some home.”
Tourists say the variety of hues, shapes, and natural designs of the shells perfectly complement the beauty of Cox’s Bazar itself.
The colorful sparkle of seashells merging with the serene beachscape makes every visit somewhat more magical and memorable.
