Dr. Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping, Labour and Employment, and Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, are scheduled to visit Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

Upon arrival in the morning, the two advisors will inspect the Bakkhali River’s current state, particularly focusing on issues related to encroachment and pollution. They will also visit the site designated for the Cox’s Bazar River Port.

Later in the day, Dr. Sakhawat Hossain will officially inaugurate the Sea-Truck service on the Cox’s Bazar-Moheshkhali route.

In the afternoon, both advisors will join a high-level meeting involving officials from the district administration, Coast Guard, Navy, district police, and the Department of Environment.

According to an official itinerary signed by Mohammad Zahidul Islam, Private Secretary to the Shipping Advisor, key decisions will be made during the visit regarding the prevention of illegal occupation and pollution of the river, the installation of boundary pillars for the inland port, and necessary dredging operations.
