As the chill wind sweeps through Chakaria, the biting cold has made it nearly impossible for many to leave their homes. The situation is even harsher for those living in the hills, where the cold grips them intensely.

On Saturday night, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Atikur Rahman took warmth to the doorsteps of the shivering people in the remote hills of Kakara Union’s Bar Auliya Nagar and other areas of Chakaria.

Representing the Upazila administration, he distributed blankets to the underprivileged, distressed, and cold-stricken residents.

When they received the blankets, many expressed their relief, stating that the warmth would provide some respite from the severe cold.

According to UNO Md. Atikur Rahman, the Chief Adviser’s Office and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief have provided a significant allocation of winter clothes for the needy in Chakaria. He assured us that the distribution of these items would take place gradually throughout the area.
