Heavy rainfall over the past two days has flooded various areas in Samiti Para, Cox’s Bazar. However, with rainfall decreasing since early this morning, the water levels in the affected areas have started to recede.
Cox’s Bazar meteorologists report that during the end of Bhadra, 501 millimeters of rain fell in 24 hours, marking the highest rainfall in the country in two decades. Amidst this extreme rainfall, landslides have claimed six lives, hotel- motel in the tourism city have been submerged, and hundreds of villages are waterlogged.
