Youth Action for Rights and Justice (YARJ) received a crest of recognition for its contribution to peacebuilding and social cohesion at a conference held in Teknaf on the occasion of the International Day of Peace 2026.
The Peace and Social Cohesion Conference was held on Wednesday, September 23, at the Conference Hall of the Teknaf Shilpakala Academy.
The event was organised by SHED with support from its partner ActionAid Bangladesh under the project titled ‘Youth-Led Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Initiatives in Bangladesh and Myanmar’.
A total of 15 youth-led organisations were recognised for their contributions to peacebuilding, social cohesion and various youth-led initiatives.
On behalf of YARJ, co-founder Rayhan Uddin and programme coordinator Arifa Siddika Rahma received the recognition crest.
The conference highlighted the role of youth-led organisations in promoting peace at the local level, strengthening social harmony, encouraging youth participation and fostering cooperation and peaceful coexistence among different communities.
The organisers said a key objective of the event was to encourage greater participation of young people in promoting peace and social cohesion while recognising ongoing youth-led initiatives at the local level.
