With the slogan “Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World,” the Young Tigers U-14 National Cricket Tournament has commenced in Cox’s Bazar as part of the Youth Festival celebrations.
Organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and managed by the District Sports Association, the tournament began Tuesday morning at the Cox’s Bazar International Cricket Stadium.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nizam Uddin Ahmed was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. District Sports Officer Main Uddin Milky presided over the event, which included notable speeches from BCB Executive Officer Kamrul Hasan, sports organizer Sarwar Romman, and student representative Riduanul Haque, among others.
BCB officials, umpires, young cricketers, and parents attended the event.
The opening match was played between Dhaka South and Dhaka Metro.
This 10-day tournament follows a two-day match format and features 10 divisional teams. Five matches will be held in Cox’s Bazar, while the remaining five will occur in Khulna.
