The Youth Share-Net project held its third annual stakeholders’ meeting in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday, focusing on youth and adolescent participation, leadership development, and awareness and access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) organised the meeting, with support from RedOrange and AmplifyChange, at the Cox’s Bazar District Family Planning Office on October 6, 2026.
The meeting reviewed the project’s progress and achievements and presented preliminary survey findings. Participants also discussed ways to ensure adolescents’ access to health services, rights and necessary information, and to strengthen coordination among relevant stakeholders.
Biplab Barua, deputy director of the Cox’s Bazar District Family Planning Office, attended the meeting as the chief guest.
Among others, Dr Rajib Pal, medical officer (MCH-FP) of Ukhiya; Dr M Imtiaz Chowdhury of Ramu; Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam of Teknaf; Dr Sadiq Allam Asif of Cox’s Bazar Sadar; Tapas Dutta, upazila family planning officer of Chakaria; and assistant family planning officer Ataus Salman attended the meeting.
Ashish Chandra Pal, upazila youth development officer of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, attended as a special guest.
Adolescent participants shared their experiences, views and needs at the meeting and made several recommendations to ensure adolescent-friendly health services, access to accurate information and protection of their rights.
Speakers said coordinated efforts by government and non-government organisations, youth groups, human rights organisations and civil society were needed to ensure safe, accessible and adolescent-friendly services.
They said giving greater importance to young people’s views and leadership could help bring about positive and sustainable changes in society.
Representatives from various government and non-government organisations, youth and human rights groups, civil society members and adolescents attended the meeting.
Stakeholders shared experiences and discussed the project’s achievements, while also recommending ways to make future activities more effective and participatory.
