Eighty-five Bangladeshi nationals who were imprisoned in various jails across Myanmar are set to return to Bangladesh after completing their sentences.

Moreover, 123 members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) and military personnel, who had fled to Bangladesh amid unrest in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, will be repatriated to their home country.

Bangladeshi citizens’ return is scheduled for tomorrow, September 29, at the BIWTA terminal in Nuniyarchara, Cox’s Bazar. At the same time, the 123 BGP officers and military personnel will be handed over to Myanmar authorities.

Cox’s Bazar District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin confirmed the arrangements to Cox’s Bazar Life.

He explained that the group of Myanmar nationals consists of 8 military personnel and 115 BGP officers.
