A new skills development training program on Housekeeping (Level 2) and Plumbing (Level 1) was inaugurated on Thursday (April 17) at JP Technical Training Center (JPTTC) in Cox’s Bazar, aiming to enhance local community skills.

The initiative is funded by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and implemented in collaboration with the Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). The training is designed for the informal workforce and seeks to increase employment opportunities at home and abroad.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kaushik Khan, Upazila Social Services Officer; Ashish Chandra Pal, Youth Union Officer; Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Project Coordinator at CCCI; Khairul Bashar, Project Officer at CCCI; Zainal Abedin, President of the Construction Workers’ Association; and Tariqul Islam, Assistant Director at SKUS.

In their remarks, the guests emphasized the importance of such vocational training for youth skill development. They assured that continued support will be provided for job placement following the training. They also noted the growing demand for housekeeping and plumbing professionals at both national and international levels.
