A heavy downpour brought new life to nature and relief to the locals in Cox’s Bazar. But for many visitors to the country’s longest sea beach, the rain only added to the thrill of their seaside adventure.
As rain poured steadily since morning, hundreds of tourists gathered at Laboni Point to enjoy a dramatic sea bath amid crashing waves. Despite lifeguards blowing whistles and urging visitors to stay close to the shore, many chose to immerse themselves in the roaring waters, embracing the rare joy of a rain-soaked dip in the Bay of Bengal.
Red flags were raised by the on-duty lifeguards, warning of rough seas and inclement weather. “We always advise tourists to avoid swimming during such conditions,” said one lifeguard. “But many ignore the warnings, drawn by the thrill of the waves.”
As the rain blended with sea spray and laughter echoed across the beach, it became clear that nature’s wild mood was the perfect invitation for these beachgoers to play.
