The popularity of sea-truck services on the Moheshkhali–Cox’s Bazar water route is skyrocketing, with increasing numbers of passengers opting for this safe and efficient mode of transport.

Since the introduction of sea-trucks on this route, daily ridership has steadily risen. Just yesterday, three scheduled trips transported a total of 1,498 passengers, according to a sea-truck staff member.

Currently, sea trucks operate three times daily from Moheshkhali Jetty at 7:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 5:00 PM and from the BIWTA Jetty at Nuniachhara, Cox’s Bazar at 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM. The fare is affordable at Tk 30 per person.

Passengers, including locals and tourists, are now calling for adding at least one more sea-truck to accommodate the rising demand and improve convenience on this increasingly vital maritime route.
