Khelaghar Ashor, a prominent children’s cultural organization, celebrated its 73rd founding anniversary with vibrant festivities in Ramu. The event was held on Friday (May 2) at 3 PM at the Upazila Shilpakala Academy.
Cultural activist Rajib Barua presided over the celebration, with Bilkis Nahar moderating the program. Subimal Pal Panna, President of the Cox’s Bazar District Khelaghar Ashor, attended as the chief guest.
Distinguished guests included Mohammad Alam, President of the Ramu Upazila chapter of Citizens for Good Governance (SUJAN), educator and cultural activist Manashi Barua, Nayon Chakraborty, Dr. Bulbul Kanti Dey, Niloy Barua, Dibosh Sharma, and others.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of nurturing children with scientific tempers and non-communal values. They stressed that Khelaghar has been working for over seven decades to raise children in the spirit of free thought and Bengali cultural heritage. They noted that the development of a nation hinges on enlightened and educated citizens, who must be cultivated from a young age. Today’s children, they said, are the torchbearers of tomorrow.
The program concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony in the presence of young members of Khelaghar and guests, marking the joyous occasion of the organization’s 73rd anniversary.
