To strengthen bilateral cooperation, the Embassy of Nepal hosted a dynamic networking dialogue titled “From the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal: Promoting Nepal-Bangladesh Economic Partnership” in Cox’s Bazar on May 1.
The event brought together tour operators, tourism entrepreneurs, and local business leaders to explore new avenues of collaboration between the two neighboring nations.
The dialogue highlighted the immense potential for partnership in trade and tourism. Local representatives from the Tour Operator Owners Association of Cox’s Bazar (TOAC) showcased the region’s natural resources, growing infrastructure, and emerging investment opportunities, particularly within the tourism and special economic zones.
One key proposal emerging from the discussions was the introduction of direct flights between Cox’s Bazar and Kathmandu, a step seen as pivotal in enhancing connectivity, boosting tourism, and facilitating easier business exchanges.
Participants emphasized the value of cross-border collaboration through shared goals in sustainable tourism, cultural exchange, and trade. The dialogue concluded with a collective call to deepen the relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh through actionable partnerships.
“Through tourism, trade, and a shared vision for growth, the bond between our countries can become even stronger,” said one of the organizers at the close of the event.
