Lutfur Rahman Kajol, BNP’s Central Secretary for Fisheries Affairs and former Member of Parliament, strongly criticised the current political culture, alleging that the ruling party practices have distorted the purpose of politics.
“Today, many think politics is about extortion—that’s what the Awami League has taught them,” Kajol said at a labour rally organised by the Cox’s Bazar Sadar chapter of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal on Monday afternoon. The rally was held at the field adjacent to the old union office of Khurushkul Union.
He added, “Sheikh Hasina has ended her own political future. I believe there’s no Awami League left even in Gopalganj.”
Addressing party activists, Kajol emphasized ethical politics rooted in public service. “If you grab land in your local area, people won’t just curse you—they will curse Tarique Rahman, Khaleda Zia, and all of BNP. So serve the people, stand by them, love them, and you will find peace.”
Sadar Upazila Sramik Dal President Motaher Hossain presided over the rally. General Secretary Omar Faruq Bulbul and Organizing Secretary Zahirul Haque Lotus jointly conducted it.
District Sramik Dal President Rafiqul Islam, among others, spoke as the chief speaker. Special guests included Municipal BNP Convener Rafiqul Huda Chowdhury, Freedom Fighter Abdul Mabud, Municipal BNP Member Secretary Abul Kashem, and Sadar Upazila BNP Member Secretary Sayyed Nur Saudagar.
