A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Dhaka landed safely at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today after one of its rear wheels detached. It fell off shortly after takeoff from Cox’s Bazar.
The flight, BG 436, departed Cox’s Bazar at 1:20 PM on Friday. It was a Dash 8-400 aircraft carrying 71 passengers, including children.
The airline’s General Manager (Public Relations), ABM Rashed Kabir, confirmed the incident. He stated, “Soon after takeoff from the Cox’s Bazar runway, one of the rear wheels of the flight detached and fell. Despite this, the aircraft landed safely in Dhaka. Full emergency landing preparations were made in advance. All passengers and the aircraft are safe, and passengers are now disembarking.”
The incident sparked concern but was handled professionally, preventing what could have been a major aviation accident.
