Due to essential maintenance work, the Power Development Board (PDB) has announced a scheduled power outage in various parts of Cox’s Bazar town on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
In a notice issued on Friday (May 16), the PDB stated that, in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season and to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, maintenance and repair work will be carried out on several 11 kv feeders under the Cox’s Bazar Distribution Division. This includes trimming tree branches close to 11 kv power lines.
As part of the maintenance, power will be temporarily suspended from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the following areas, Sikdar Para, Barua Para, BGB Camp Area, Chowdhury Para, Submarine Cable Office vicinity, North side of Ali Jahal Road, SM Para, Godar Para, Khurushkul Road Junction, Majherghat, Peshkar Para Switch Gate, Malaria Office Road, Burmese School Road, Kazi Office Road, Seacoast Tower Area, Bazarghata, Boro Masjid Area, Kamar Patti, Chaul Bazar Road, Asimong Peshkar Para, Municipal Super Market, and nearby localities.
The PDB has apologised for the temporary inconvenience and sought cooperation from residents during this necessary maintenance period.
