At the farthest edge of Cox’s Bazar, at the renowned Teknaf Zero Point beach, the shoreline appears drenched in a striking red hue at first glance. But as you draw closer, you’ll notice thousands of vibrant red crabs scurrying rapidly into holes in the sand, creating this breathtaking spectacle.

This captivating natural phenomenon attracts thousands of tourists every day, earning the beach the nickname “The Red Beach of Bangladesh.”

To reach this zero point, visitors travel nearly 80 kilometers along the scenic Marine Drive road from Cox’s Bazar. Despite the long journey, the thrilling adventure is well worth it for the ethereal views that await. The sight of the red crabs spreading across the sandy shore during low tide turns the entire area into a vivid tapestry of color.

Rich in natural beauty, this beach is gradually gaining popularity among travelers. Locals are hopeful that the red crab sanctuary will be preserved and that proper measures will be taken to develop sustainable tourism in the area.
