In celebration of World Environment Day, the Sadar Upazila administration organised a tree plantation program in Cox’s Bazar. The event took place yesterday in the PM Khali Union and was inaugurated by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nilufa Yasmin Chowdhury.
As part of the initiative, around 350 flowering trees—including Krishnachura, Jacaranda, and Sonalu—were planted along both banks of the local Patli Canal.
The event was attended by the acting Chairman of the PMKhali Union Parishad, Arif Ullah, as well as union parishad members and other local officials. During the program, the UNO urged community members to take an active role in nurturing and preserving the newly planted trees.
