During the Eid holidays, the Tourist Police in Cox’s Bazar rescued 23 children who had gone missing while visiting the beach with their families. All the children were later reunited with their parents or guardians.

The matter was confirmed on Sunday night (June 15) by Additional DIG of the Tourist Police, Apel Mahmud.

According to him, some of the rescued children had wandered away from their families and were heading in the wrong direction, while others were at risk of being swept out to sea by the currents. “Whenever we received a call for help, we immediately launched search operations and managed to rescue the children promptly,” said DIG Apel.

He further noted that such incidents are not uncommon at Cox’s Bazar beach, especially during peak tourist seasons, such as Eid, when the crowd becomes overwhelming. “We urge all guardians to keep a close eye on their children while at the beach,” he said.

The Tourist Police, along with lifeguards and other beach safety personnel, remain on high alert throughout the holiday period, ready to respond to any emergency and ensure the safety of all visitors.
