After days of rain, the weather in Cox’s Bazar has turned bright and sunny. For the past two days, the district has seen no rainfall. A visit to three different points along the beach found thousands of tourists flocking to the sea, crossing the sandy stretch to enjoy the water.

Most visitors were bathing in knee-deep waves, following the instructions of the lifeguards on duty.

The sandy beach itself was teeming with tourists, many of whom were taking photos, riding horses, or enjoying beach bike rides along the shore. Others chose to sit under colourful umbrellas, simply soaking in the sea’s beauty.

Md. Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar weather office, said that although it is still the peak of the monsoon season—with 894 millimetres of rainfall recorded over the past ten days—there was no rain throughout Friday, with the weather remaining sunny.

There is a chance of light showers at night, he added, noting that similar weather may continue for the next two to three days.
