As part of the nationwide observance titled “July Uprising,” a series of events including a pledge ceremony, a discussion meeting, and a cultural program were held in Cox’s Bazar today to inspire social transformation.

The event took place in the conference room of Arunoday School on Circuit House Road, jointly organized by the Cox’s Bazar District Administration and the District Social Services Office.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin attended the program as the chief guest.
In his speech, he emphasized the importance of upholding the spirit of rebellion and sacrifice shown by the brave warriors of the July people’s movement.
“To build a humane and discrimination-free society and state, everyone must work together. The unmatched contributions of the July martyrs will remain etched in the pages of history,” the DC said.

The program was presided over by acting Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services, Shafiuddin Safi. Additional Deputy Commissioner Imran Hossain Sajib, Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, and family members of July martyrs—including Shafiul Alam (father of Shaheed Mohammad Wasim), Md. Badsha Miah (father of Shaheed Tanvir Siddiqui), and Md. Raihan (younger brother of Shaheed Ahsan Habib)—also addressed the gathering.

Heads of government offices and educational institutions, political leaders, family members of martyrs and injured fighters of the July uprising, and student representatives were also present.

The event began with a collective oath-taking ceremony aligned with the national observance, followed by prayers for the departed souls of the July martyrs and for the recovery of the wounded freedom fighters. The program concluded with a cultural performance.
