A special four-day training workshop has begun in Cox’s Bazar to address health risks faced by tourists on the beach. The workshop was inaugurated on Sunday morning at the Tourism Corporation’s Upal Rest House, organized by the Cox’s Bazar district administration in collaboration with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.

The initiative aims to build a skilled response team capable of rescuing drowning victims and providing essential first aid, particularly CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Experts say immediate rescue and proper initial treatment can significantly reduce the risk of death in drowning incidents. The training is part of a broader effort by the district administration to ensure a safer beach environment for all.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Kabir M. Ashraf Alam NDC, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, with Deputy Commissioner Md. Salah Uddin presiding over the session.

Executive Magistrate Md conducted the opening event. Azim Khan, who oversees the district tourism cell. Also present were Additional Deputy Magistrate Md. Shahidul Alam, President of Cox’s Bazar Press Club Mahbubur Rahman, Red Crescent Society’s Director of Training Sabina Yasmin, and Additional Superintendent of Tourist Police Md. Bashir Uddin.
