Bengalis have always loved variety in food—finding joy in tasting different dishes prepared from the same ingredients. Among these, one snack has earned a permanent place in people’s hearts: the singara.

The popularity of singara lies in its delicious, crispy, and savory taste, making it a favorite across all age groups. Whether at the office, during a casual adda with friends, or as a morning or evening snack, this light and affordable treat never loses its charm. A piping hot singara, especially stuffed with spiced potatoes, holds a special appeal for Bengalis—one that no expensive delicacy can easily replace.

In Cox’s Bazar, tourists in particular relish singaras at any time of the day—be it morning, noon, or evening. To meet this demand, local shops always keep their counters stocked. Most eateries in Cox’s Bazar sell singaras for Tk 10–20 each, while upscale restaurants and star-rated hotels often price them between Tk 50 and Tk 100 apiece.
