Friday (October 17) evening felt like a dream painted in golden hues. As the sun slowly dipped beyond the horizon, brushing the sea’s edge, thousands of tourists gathered at Inani Beach to witness the breathtaking moment.
Just 23 kilometers from Cox’s Bazar town, the road to Inani is a scenic journey in itself — with the deep blue sea on one side, lush green hills on the other, and the winding Marine Drive in between. The thrill of riding an open-top “chander gari” or “moon car” along this coastal stretch only adds to the adventure.
Inani’s most distinctive charm lies in its rocky shoreline — a rare natural formation that sets it apart from other beaches in Bangladesh. The waves crashing against the rocks under a golden sunset create a mesmerizing view that drew crowds of visitors on Friday evening.
Tourist Zahida Akter said, “You don’t get to see sunsets like this every day. It feels like stepping into a painting.” Some took selfies, others made reels, while many simply stood in awe, soaking in the perfection of nature.
Another visitor, Sakib Ahmed, shared, “It’s been years since I came to Cox’s Bazar. This time, I rode a moon car with my family to Inani. The views along the way — the hills, the sea — were absolutely stunning.”
Security at the beach was visibly strong. The Tourist Police have a permanent post at Inani, ensuring round-the-clock safety for visitors. Members of the District Beach Management Committee were also on duty to make sure tourists could enjoy the sunset in peace.
Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police chief, Additional DIG Apple Mahmud, said, “The safety of tourists in Cox’s Bazar is our top priority. We’re on duty 24 hours a day. Any kind of harassment will not be tolerated. We also have a permanent station at Inani.”
Local businesses and visitors alike hope for more evenings like this — where the sky, sea, and rocks come alive in harmony. If nature continues to paint such sunsets, Inani may soon claim its place as Bangladesh’s most enchanting spot to watch the sun go down.
