A colorful rally and discussion were held in Cox’s Bazar on Monday to mark World Statistics Day and National Statistics Day, observed under the theme “Quality Statistics for All.”
The District Statistics Office organized the programs with the support of the District Administration.
The rally started from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and paraded through the main streets of the town. It was led by Imran Hossain Sajib, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General).
Md. Tanzib Hasan Bhuiyan, Deputy Director of the District Statistics Office, participated in the procession with upazila and assistant officers of the department.
Following the rally, Deputy Director Md. Tanzib Hasan Bhuiyan presided over a discussion at the District Statistics Office’s conference room.
In his address, he said, “Accurate, reliable, and high-quality statistics are the foundation of sustainable development. Without precise data, no plan, implementation, or progress evaluation can be truly effective.”
Among others, Mahin Uddin, Statistics Officer of Chakaria Upazila; Md. Misbahul Islam Munna, Statistics Investigator of Sadar and Eidgah Upazila; Rasel Uddin, Statistics Investigator of Ukhiya; Moshiur Rahman, Statistics Investigator of Ramu; Md. Abdur Rahim, Statistics Investigator of Maheshkhali; Pabon Karmakar, Statistics Investigator of Pekua; Minhajul Islam, Statistics Investigator of Kutubdia; and Nurul Absar, Statistics Investigator of Teknaf, were present.
District Statistics Office staff members Minhajul Haque, Murshed Alam Noori, and Farukul Islam also joined the event along with other upazila officials and employees.
