Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive has taken on a magical charm this November as both sides of the scenic coastal road are now graced by clusters of delicate white blossoms — the White Babla (Robinia pseudoacacia), also known locally as Safed Babla.

In full bloom, these tiny white flowers are spreading their sweet fragrance and painting the entire stretch of the Marine Drive in serene beauty. Their gentle presence among the lush green leaves has added a new dimension to the natural appeal of the world’s longest marine drive, captivating both tourists and nature lovers alike.

The White Babla belongs to the family Leguminosae (Fabaceae). Originally native to North America, the species has been introduced across South Asia, including Bangladesh, for reforestation and beautification. Beyond its floral appeal, the tree is also valued for its high-quality timber.

These blooming trees have turned the Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive into a new favorite photo spot. Visitors and locals often pause to capture the mesmerizing white blossoms, sharing their photos across social media — further spreading the beauty of this coastal haven.

Every year around this time, locals claim that these charming white flowers line the Marine Drive, creating a unique natural attraction. “Tourists never miss the chance to stop and take pictures,” said one resident. “This has become one of the seasonal wonders of our area.”
